Job Description:

X-Cel Superturn Ltd is a leading manufacturer of high specification component parts and assemblies. The group is enjoying a period of expansion, and we're pleased to release 3x new opportunities for skilled CNC Turner - Setter - Operator Machinists to work with small batch numbers, tight tolerances and exotic materials.

You would be required to effectively program, set and operate the CNC machine in order to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards.

Our group-wide CNC Turner positions use a variety of machines and controls including Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Machining alloy steels to exotic materials e.g. 625,718
  • Able to understand engineering drawings
  • Able to set jobs in a timely manner
  • Able to modify existing programs
  • Create simple programs from scratch (beneficial)
  • Use measuring equipment and basic CMM (training for this can be provided)
  • Loading varying size components into the machines competently
  • Monitoring long cycle times

 

Person Description:

Our successful candidate will ideally have:

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in engineering (or qualified by experience)
  • Apprentice-trained preferred
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work overtime

 

Hours & Remuneration:

Day shift contracts available.

Typical working hours are 7am-4pm Mon-Thurs, 7am-12pm Fri. (39 hrs per week)

Competitive pay grading system plus generous profit share after probationary period.

Plus - as much overtime as you want to work!

 

Applicants with experience of; CNC Machinist, CNC Programmer, CNC Engineer, CNC Operator, CNC Turner, CNC Lathe Turner, CNC Miller, CNC Milling Machinist will also be considered for the role.

CNC Turners & CNC Millers - join our talent pool

X-Cel Superturn Ltd, established in 1984, is a manufacturer of high specification component parts and assemblies, based within the inspiring Advanced Manufacturing Park with neighbours including McLaren, Boeing and Rolls Royce.  

Throughout 2019 the business has enjoyed a period of expansion, for 2020 we expect to follow the same upward trend, therefore are proactively looking to build our own talent pool of skilled machinists, who we can recruit as we continue to grow, as & when vacancies arise.  You will be employed on a permanent, full time day shift basis (opportunities may arise for split shift or afternoon shift contracts also).

You would be required to effectively program, set and operate the CNC machine in order to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards.  These roles would suit qualified engineers looking to develop and progress.  

 

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Machining exotic materials e.g. 625,718, using FANUC 32i control system
  • Able to understand complex engineering drawings
  • Able to set complex jobs in a timely manner
  • Able to modify existing programs
  • Create simple programs from scratch in a timely manner
  • Use measuring equipment and basic CMM
  • Implement minor and suggest major tooling changes
  • Suggest process changes to engineering department
  • Assist and instruct others
  • Loading varying size components into the machines competently
  • Monitoring long cycle times

 

Person Description:

  • Apprentice trained preferred
  • Fast paced and with a strong work ethic
  • Willingness and ability to follow management directions to achieve results

 

Shift Patterns:

Day shift: Mon-Thurs 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-12:00

Night/Afternoon shift - Mon-Thurs 16:00-02:30
