Job Description:

CNC Millers - 2x NEW roles - required immediately - Autumn 2019

X-Cel Superturn Ltd, established in 1984, is a manufacturer of high specification component parts and assemblies, based within the inspiring Advanced Manufacturing Park with neighbours including McLaren, Boeing and Rolls Royce.  

We are going through a period of expansion, and in order to maintain our full order book, we are proactively looking to hire & start the right, experienced candidates urgently. You will be employed on a permanent, full time day/split OR night shift basis.

You would be required to effectively program, set and operate the CNC machine in order to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards.  These roles would suit qualified engineers looking to develop and progress.  

 

Person Description:

 

Miller #1 - 

CNC Miller – Alternating Days & Afters

Potential candidates would ideally have most of the following attributes;

  • Able to create basic program on a Heidenhain controlled milling machines (complex programs are created on the CADCAM)
  • Able to edits programs, set and operate on Heidenhain controlled milling machines
  • Milling experience of medium to large parts
  • Experience of working on a Correa (or similar) bed type machine with 4th axis indexer
  • Experience of machining complex parts
  • Experience of a sub contract environment

Interesting and varied low volume work where you can test your skills and experience.

This position will appeal to candidates who feel they have the necessary skills and experience to fill this position and are looking for an interesting and challenging position offering good opportunities.

 

Miller #2 - 

CNC Miller (Day Shift)

Working within a small team, within a growing department, creating bespoke sub-contract units to client specification.  Small 1-off to medium volume 50-offs

Experience of machining various materials such as Alu-bronze, Hastalloys, Titanium, Stainless, Duplex and High Nickel Inconel’s

  • Time served or experienced apprenticed trained miller
  • Working on small single pallet machining centres 500 x1000mm bed with Fanuc controls
  • You must be able to programme, edit, set and engineer simple/moderate solutions independently

(Engineering support is available for more complex products)

  • Able to offer work holding, jigs, fixture solutions  
  • Manual guide & background edit experience is preferred
  • Manufacture of valve/hydraulic/sealing/medical parts a distinct advantage

Job Description:

Painter/Sprayers

Our Coating/Finishing department will soon be moving into BRAND NEW premises next door to our AMP HQ, therefore we are pleased to release new opportunities for professional, experienced Painter/Sprayers, required to effectively finish our machined components to the required highest quality standards, working on a permanent split shift basis.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • The industrial spray coating of machined components (using HVLP equipment and Xylan/Molykote paint)
  • Application of protective thermosetting PTFE resin and other coatings to specific thickness and adhesion properties as defined by customer and national standards (experience of this is critical)
  • Surface preparation of products to be coated using mechanical blasting and chemical processes
  • Handling high value parts in a safe and careful manner, (weighing up to 350kg) with the use of overhead lifting equipment
Person Description:
  • Previous experience as an HVLP sprayer
  • Previous Blasting experience (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 1 or 2  in Finishing (advantageous)

 

Please note, these opportunities are required to start in approx. January 2020 on a split shift basis;

- Days - Monday-Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-12:00

CNC Millers / CNC Turners - NEW roles - required Autumn 2019

X-Cel Superturn Ltd, established in 1984, is a manufacturer of high specification component parts and assemblies, based within the inspiring Advanced Manufacturing Park with neighbours including McLaren, Boeing and Rolls Royce.  

We are going through a period of expansion, and in order to maintain our full order book, we are proactively looking to build our own talent pool of skilled machinists, who we can recruit as we continue to grow, as & when vacancies arise.  You will be employed on a permanent, full time day/split OR night shift basis.

You would be required to effectively program, set and operate the CNC machine in order to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards.  These roles would suit qualified engineers looking to develop and progress.  

 

Our current opportunities (September 2019) include;

- CNC Turner - DT670 (Day shift)

- CNC Lathe Turner - L300/small (Day shift)

- Mazak Lathe Turner - small (Day shift)

 

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Machining exotic materials e.g. 625,718, using FANUC 32i control system
  • Able to understand complex engineering drawings
  • Able to set complex jobs in a timely manner
  • Able to modify existing programs
  • Create simple programs from scratch in a timely manner
  • Use measuring equipment and basic CMM
  • Implement minor and suggest major tooling changes
  • Suggest process changes to engineering department
  • Assist and instruct others
  • Loading varying size components into the machines competently
  • Monitoring long cycle times

 

Person Description:

 

Our successful candidate must have:

  • Apprentice trained preferred
  • Strong work ethic
  • Willingness and ability to follow management directions to achieve results

 

Shift Patterns:

Day shift: Mon-Thurs 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-12:00

Night/Afternoon shift - Mon-Thurs 16:00-02:30
