X-Cel Atlas

The start of the Sheffield Superturn Expansion and ultimately the integration of X-Cel Gaskets followed by the Divisionalisation into four separate Group Companies commenced with the purchase of Shillito Engineering and the subsequent move from the original site close to Hillsborough Football Stadium into the modern facilities at Atlas.

A 35,000 sq ft facility more suitable to housing the larger plant which had been acquired to produce the larger drill tool parts.  All but one of the original machines were replaced with new and existing plant enabling us to be able to produce the larger and longer Oil Field components which we still produce to this Day.

The site has been expanded over recent Years with the addition of an attached 10,000 sq ft facility to house the Deep Hole Boring and CNC Honing section and a further 4,000 sq ft home of the assembly, brazing and Hard Facing shop.

With the divisionalisation of the products more space was created and in July 2012 several new VTL and Machining Centres were added to support the Drill Tool and Wellhead OEM customer base expansions.
